Day 5 – More activities!

Phew! What a busy day Wednesday was.

After breakfast it was time to get those dancing shoes on, this time for a game of musical statues. These games before the talk ensure the campers are wide awake although, rocking to Christmas songs in the middle of August out on the school car park sometimes attracts an audience.

Today’s talk from Tom helped us study the story of Zaccheus. We saw how his heart was totally changed when he encountered Jesus.

After a bit of lunch it was straight on with the days activities. One group headed ghyll scrambling while a group of girls headed off in the minibus to go rock climbing with myself. After an overcast but fine hour or so out climbing it began to rain. You might have thought this would ruin the day but the girls kept climbing. To keep themselves warm and spirits high they belted out some Christmas carols (with alternative words) on the mountain side. Well done girls!

Once everyone was home, showered, fed and had warmed up it was time for Lois and Tom’s Christmas quiz. After several rounds of Christmas themed trivia the scores were announced and shouts of cheer came from the victorious team.

Well its late, and these tired bodies and minds need some sleep.
