Please download our kitlist for everything you need to bring to Compass Camp.

You are probably well aware that the weather in the Lake District can be mixed. We pray for fine weather but please ensure you are prepared for wet and dry, hot and cold conditions. Remember also that at night under canvas it can be cold, sometimes more so when it’s clear, so hot sunny days can mean cold nights. A good sleeping bag is essential but also be prepared to layer up at night.

One of the highlights of Compass Camp is the adventure activities and having the right equipment for these is essential. This year our activities are rock climbing, ghyll scrambling, canoeing and a hill walk. We will have a full day between the water sports and do have a spin drier so will endeavour to dry equipment between these activities but cannot guarantee that everything will be dry in time for the next activity so bring two sets or be prepared to re-wear the damp clothes, remember you’ll be getting wet again anyway!

We do have a limited amount of spare equipment – walking boots, waterproofs, rucksacks etc. Please let us know if you’re not able to find the equipment you need and we can check the camp spares kit.
