Yesterday ended with a messy wide game so everybody woke up to a field speckled with flour and the sight of several leaders looking like they had horrendous dandruff.
Once breakfast had been devoured we had our morning meeting, where we learnt how Jacob reached a crisis point and finally recognised God as his God. He prayed to God, casting his fears upon him and putting his trust in him. We also sang a beautiful rendition of Happy Birthday to our very own leader, Gary.
The group activities today were kayaking on lake Coniston and ghyll scrambling which had an exciting mix of scrambling up a gorge, traversing the rocks, jumping in pools and climbing up waterfalls. Thankfully both sets of groups were able to dry off in the glorious sunshine. Nobody can believe how fortunate we have been with the weather! I hope we don’t run out of sun cream.
Today’s superhero was Matt for his awesome kayaking skills. However, I’m sorry to say that ‘Dylan the villian’ struck again today and was indeed today’s villian! We serenaded Gary once again and presented him with a cake and present then it was on to tonight’s team challenge which was to dress up two camp leaders as superhero’s of their choice using newspapers, bin bags and good old sticky back plastic. Points were awarded for originality, accuracy and use of materials.
Some more photos have been uploaded to our flickr site. Please check out the photos from the last couple of days on in the 2016 camp collection.
