Wednesday aboard SS Compass

Well, Wednesday, its been another action packed day on camp.

The morning started with a challenging talk from Joe Kirby. He had the unenviable task of preaching on the part of John 3:16 which says “should not perish”. A difficult subject but none the less one that we must discuss to help us understand how we need to trust in God to save us.

The day’s activities all involved water, water and yes more water. The older campers headed off on the ghyll scramble and many conquered their fear of hights by leaping off waterfalls and plunging into the deep and freezing cold pools below. The younger group went in the direction of the lake. Some kayaked and played games while others were given a raft building challenge. Everyone came back soaking wet and cold but after a hot shower and change of clothes it was time for some more excellent grub provided by our wonderful cooks.

You’d think that would be enough excitement for one day however it’s not over yet. In the evening the whole camp headed down to the lakeside and with the help of Jamie Ventress (a veteran camper) an epic pirate movie was made. Coming to a small screen near you. Watch this space!

Tent prayers tonight will give us a change to talk more about this mornings message and see how God really does save those who trust in Him.
