Day 6 of Compass Camp 2014

Today we woke up and it was slightly drizzly outside, but nothing was going to dampen the mood, especially when there was hash browns and exceptionally awesome scrambled eggs for breakfast.  After that, we gathered together to hear God’s word from Daniel 6 and learn about who we should trust at difficult times, such as Daniel in the lions’ den.

After lunch, half of us went ghyll scrambling and half went canoeing.  The ghyll scramblers had fun apart from one leader, Hannah Sharples, being bitten by the instructor’s dog!  The canoeing was just as fun, with everyone getting soaking wet.  It was a struggle at first trying to work together to point in the right direction, but we got there in the end!

An amazing tea of various flavours of pie was prepared by the wonderful cooks, followed by pavlova.  We all watched Frozen in the evening to the annoyance of some people (no names, Brian), but most people enjoyed it!  After, we discussed the parallels between the film and the gospel, and it’s surprising just how many there are!

Tomorrow is the trip to Ambleside, and is also the last full day at camp :(
