After a wet night, the drizzle continued throughout most of the day, but that didn’t dampen our enthusiasm and enjoyment of the days activities! After breakfast, we began the day hearing from God’s word about Jesus, about how he was sent to Earth and about how amazing that is!
Today was the first day of activities, and half of us went ghyll scrambling, and the other half did a brand new activity for the first time! It was an adventure race, which had various challenges (both mental and physical), a zip wire, an abseil and lots of other fun things in the area surrounding Coniston.
After drying off and having tea (the cooks’ excellent lasagne!), we assembled into our tent groups to do the annual Compass Camp quiz, which was pirate themed! We continued looking through Hebrews 11 to finish the day. Tonight’s passage was about Moses and how he had faith that even though life was difficult, God would have something much better in store for him in heaven.
We’ll need plenty of sleep tonight after lots of fun, and to have enough energy for the camp walk on Tuesday!
