Wednesday’s camp theme is Chick Flicks; the day started with the usual trailer (view it on our facebook page) which portrayed a beautiful love story.

Once the campers’ bellies were full from breakfast it was time for the morning meeting. Jeff was today’s speaker and preached on John 20:1-23 about Jesus’ resurrection. The meeting had us consider how fundamentally vital the resurrection is to the Christian faith, the equal importance of the cross and the resurrection, and how our faith is built directly upon those events.  Jeff also gave practical advice on how to approach conversations with those who do not believe in Jesus’ resurrection, with emphasis on the eye witness accounts.

Afterwards the campers proceeded to enjoy taking their tent photos; some of the poses were movie inspired by films such as the titanic. Following a generous helping of sun cream the the campers began their annual camp walk this time up the Yewdale Fell. As we collectively marched up rocky paths some of the campers burst into song and merrily carried on upwards. We trekked through woods, past winding rivers and a quarry, which gave the opportunity for many conversations to take place. At the height of the walk we witnessed God’s amazing creation with towering mountains surrounding us.

A delicious meal of Spanish meatballs was served for dinner, lovingly prepared by our cooks. We finished a jam packed day with a movie quiz night including picture rounds and charades. To finish off an amazing day, tent prayers gives an opportunity for God to be glorified and inquisitive campers’ questions to be answered.
