Captain’s Log: Monday – Ahoy Mates!

Ahoy mates!

We’re nearly at the end of another busy day on the Compass Camp pirate ship.
This morning Ole taught us from Jesus’ saying, “I am the door of the sheep”, highlighting the twofold nature of the door as the only entrance into God’s kingdom, and the way to good pastures – the abundant life of knowing Jesus.

Today was our first ‘activities day’ so, after the morning meeting, our three crews went off on their various activities: rock climbing, canoeing/bushcraft, and ghyll-scrambling. The first group doing the canoing might have spent most of their time floating though, as the paddles had been left behind at camp!

Nevertheless, everyone seemed to have a great time, and returned with a hearty appetite for Barnacle Bill’s Bolognese (or Scurvy-cure Curry), followed by a shark-infested seas-cake.

This evening, campers will play a slightly more sedate game of Brian’s sofa wars, before heading off to tent prayers to discuss this morning’s teaching.
