Today marked the exciting start of our detective-themed youth camp here in the beautiful Lake District! While the leaders were busy preparing for the campers’ arrival in the morning, the real action kicked off in the afternoon with a series of fun-filled activities designed to get everyone into the spy spirit.

Upon arrival, the campers dove into a series of icebreaker games, perfect for making new friends and building team spirit. Later, we took a scenic walk around Windermere, where our budding detectives practised their skills by looking for clues and spying on unsuspecting bystanders. The picturesque surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for our sleuthing adventures.

Dinner was a hit with everyone, featuring delicious fajitas and a mouthwatering lemon meringue pie for dessert. Our young detectives needed their strength, and this meal certainly hit the spot.

The evening was all about creativity and team bonding. Campers crafted their own personal ID badges, complete with secret agent names. The highlight of the night was when they worked in their tent groups to create giant ID badges, including a unique team name. The creativity was off the charts, with names like “00-heaven” standing out as a favourite.

As the day drew to a close, our tired but happy campers settled into their tents, recharging for the adventures that await tomorrow. A huge thank you to our dedicated leaders and to God for His presence and provision throughout the day. Here’s to more fun, faith, and detective work in the days to come!
